The Hedgehogs.

Steve came to school to show us the hedgehogs. The hedgehogs have spikes to keep safe from predators. They roll into balls when they are scared.
They hide in holes , underneath wood and under the bushes.
Hedgehogs like to eat snails and slugs and snakes and they eat worms and cat food. Steve said they will eat anything. They eat heaps of things.
Kael named the baby hedgehog Rapunzel and the other one is called Spike.
A baby hedgehog is called a hoglet.
The hedgehogs made sniffing and hissing sounds. Sometimes they grunt and grumble and snuffle.
I'm itchy I have to scratch!
Yum yum the hedgehog is nibbling on the carpet.

Welcome to 2013

Yesterday Mrs Jones brought some walnuts to school. We broke the shells with a hammer and then we ate the walnut. Everybody liked the walnuts they were yummy.

Today we made boats, crabs, turtles, mice and ladybugs.
We cut out legs, heads and flippers and pincers
We glued and painted them and now they are drying.
Our creatures are drying.
Brenda and and Eric are mixing paint.

I am painting my ladybird.

I am putting on my art shirt.

I am concentrating on painting my mouse.

We are washing the brushes.

I am painting my sleeping turtle.

We had to glue the legs, ears, whiskers and pincers to the walnut shell.

It was great fun! We are going to display them for everyone to see.
